Stall 18, Ground Floor, Newport Indoor Market
Upper Dock Street
Newport
NP20 1DD

Directions from Newport Railway Station (by foot): Leaving from the main entrance of the Station cross the road at the traffic lights.  Turn left and follow the pavement until you get to Cambrian Road.  Turn onto this road then, approximately two-hundred yards down this road turn right into, and go through Newport Arcade.  You will now be on High Street with the Market entrance directly in front of you.

Newport Indoor Market is located between the High Street and Upper Dock Street in central Newport and is housed in an impressive building which structurally has remained largely unchanged since 1899, although parts of the building and the market site date back much further.

It contains more than 60 stalls over two floors. The ground floor is loosely based on a grid system and generally contains more traditional stalls such as butchers, fishmongers, haberdashers, greengrocers and clothes shops. The ground floor is also home to the oldest record shop in Newport and the only place in Newport City Centre where you can get freshly made Welsh cakes while you wait.

The upstairs was recently extensively refurbished and the cafés, repair shops, hairdressers and other services are looked over by the old barrel-vaulted roof and a newly commissioned stained glass window.
