In her work Veronica Forsgren uses a variety of mechanisms that enable exploration and learning. At the core of her practice is her interest in how the individual functions as part of society and how this is reflected in our belief systems. She is fascinated by the human impulse to create and surround him/herself with beauty and the sometimes minute distinction between beauty and bad taste. Forsgren aspires to create art that uses vibrant colours, iconic imagery and humour in attempting to lure the audience closer to interact with the work. Despite being aware of the habitually cruel reality of humanity and nature, she focuses her study on ideas of happiness and the perceived promise of happiness through beauty.
