Dan Clark's work is predominantly concerned with the idea of the 'prop' object and its collected meaning(s). Looking to operate somewhere in our peripheral field of vision, much of his work comes without the usual self proclamation of Art Object. Attempting to utilize what he sees as an 'acquired filmic' visual language, Clarks work commonly eludes to an event or evidence of an unseen 'other'. Hoax or prank are perhaps too stronger words to pin to Clarks work, but would push us in the right direction to consider the work.
